About the writer: John Kirk is an avid gamer, a writer, a student, and apparently likes writing in third person.

I’m 22 summers old and a student at Rowan University, studying journalism. I’m from “South Jersey” for those who understand, New Jersey to those that don’t. I like the rain, and I love the wind and ocean. When I’m not dreaming up ways to fly without mechanical propulsion, I’m most likely out tending to my “girls”-my beautiful Italian honeybees- building/finishing converting the backyard swing set into a greenhouse, or messing with the chickens we keep in our backyard.

Like I said I’m really into gaming, more console gaming than PC, but I still do both.

I started beekeeping last semester in the mist of journalistic papers, media law, and all things news related. I’m self-taught but love to learn tips and tricks from older more experienced beekeepers. I love the hobby and hope to inspire more people in my area/anywhere to become beekeepers and help the poor girls out.

I’m also steadily getting more and more interested in the green movement. And follow it regularly, in hopes of being off-the-grid sustainably living at around age 30.

That’s all for now…I’ll try to update as I go

Aside from the blogs about bees I read–which are on my blogroll– my favorite off topic blogs I’m reading now are: ubercharged.net, teamfortress.com, ign.com, Mother nature network, and knowyourmeme.com. There are more but I don’t wanna bore you.
